THE ZULU PALETTE BY JUVIAS PLACE REVIEW

Hey everyone!

Earlier this month, I decided that I want to start doing a birthstone makeup series on my YouTube channel - inspired by Shaaanxo. For March (my birthday month btw) I have in mind to do an Aquamarine makeup tutorial. Obviously Aquamarine's are blue, which means I need a blue eyeshadow.

I had my eye on the Huda Beauty Electric Obsessions palette, but then I had a browse on Beauty Bay and discovered The Zulu Palette by Juvias Place.

Not my image.

I discovered that the Zulu Palette had much bigger pans and the colours were more up my street. I was especially attracted to the burgundy matte shade.

Lets talk about the shades.

ALL of the mattes have amazing blendability and are so easy to work with - I am very impressed.
The rose gold shimmer is beautiful and has flecks of gold, which show off in natural lighting. I am still yet to try the green shimmer shade, as my eyes are green so green shadows don't really work for me. The turquoise shimmer (which is the shade I want to use for the Aquamarine tutorial) isn't as good in pigmentation as the rose gold shade, which is of course a shame. However, if you use Fix + or even just a spritz of water, the pigmentation becomes fantastic. Just be careful, as the formula is quite chunky, so you may get a bit go fall out!

See my swatches below:

Overall, the palette was a great investment for only £20 and I couldn't recommend enough!

FENTY BEAUTY FOUNDATION REVIEW

Hey!!

So, when I went on holiday to Majorca I bought the Fenty Beauty Pro Filt'r Foundation. I was SO excited to try it and as soon as I stepped into Sephora, I knew exactly how I was going to match my shade.

I selected maybe 2 or 3 shades I thought would match me best, including 140, 150, 160 and 170. I swatched them on both my neck and my cheek and carried on walking around Sephora - I had heard that they oxidise so I wanted to leave them to set for at least 5 minutes. After picking up A LOT of makeup, I went over to one of the mirrors and decided that shade 150 was the best for me.

Now, what I didn't take into consideration is that I had a tan on holiday. Meaning that when I got back to rainy England, my face wasn't quite the same shade it was when I was in Majorca.

I tried the foundation and had some problems - see my YouTube review below.

Aside from the fact that I am very unsure whether this foundation shade is too light or too dark for me (it changes in different lights), the foundation is quite drying and even though I have oily/normal skin, I found it hard to blend in some places... oh, lets not forget that you have to do half a face at a time or else it will not budge an inch.

Apart from the negatives above, the foundation looks flawless in photos, has no flashback and last all day/night. And of course the shade range is PHENOMENAL!

See the look I created below (product list in video above):

TRYING SOMETHING NEW - SMOOTHIE BOWLS

So, as its the New Year and all, i'm trying really hard to eat healthier. Not loose weight or anything like that, just do my body some favours.

I have been trying smoothie bowls lately and WOW! So filling yet SO tasty!

Here is the first smoothie bowl I've ever made - lets call it the Berry Banana Blast:

Not the prettiest, but i'm getting there.

The ingredients:

1/2 banana
1 Handful of blueberries
1 Handful of raspberries
5 strawberries
Water (as much as you like depending on how thick you want the smoothie)
Your own choice of toppings (mine were 1/2 banana and a few blueberries)

The recipe:

Blend everything together, pour it into a bowl and add your toppings. Easy!
